The Role of Women Seed Champions in Sourcing, Storing and Sharing Seed

In this podcast, we had a special discussion with women seed champions in Adjumani district. We engaged with 3 women seed champions in Adjumani district to discuss the role of women in sourcing, storing and sharing seed. The women further shared about the kind of support that they need to preserve their seed sovereignty despite the current pressures from opposers of farmer-managed seed systems.

The seed champions interviewed include Margaret Masudio from Pakele sub-county who is a Farmer Field School facilitator and also the Chairperson ESAFF Adjumani; Jennifer Angua, NUS facilitator from Ofua sub-county and Lillian Mandera, Chairperson Women NUS Network and also a NUS Facilitator.

This podcast was brought to by ESAFF Uganda with support from African Women's Collaborative for Healthy Food Systems. Which is an initiative of African peasant and indigenous women leaders committed to healthy food systems and those wishing to share their knowledge and experience.
