Innovations
ESAFF Uganda has introduced a range of innovative initiatives to promote agroecology and support small-scale farmers. These innovations include:
Agroecology School for Journalists and Communicators: This online school educates journalists and communicators on agroecology principles, enabling them to effectively disseminate information and raise awareness about agroecology.
Agroecology Clubs in Learning Institutions: These clubs engage pupils and students in learning institutions, fostering an understanding and appreciation of agroecology among the youth, and nurturing future advocates and practitioners.
Community Agroecology Schools: These community-based schools provide practical agroecology training for small-scale farmers in their communities, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to implement agroecological practices.
Agroecology Business Hub: This hub supports small-scale farmers in developing agroecology-based businesses, helping them access markets, credit and capacity hence improving their livelihoods, and promoting agroecology.
Agroecology in Academia: ESAFF Uganda collaborates with academic institutions to integrate agroecology into their curricula, ensuring that future agricultural professionals are well-versed in agroecological concepts.
Farmers’ Seed Lab: This initiative helps small-scale farmers preserve and protect the farmer-managed seed system through exchanging local knowledge and seed varieties development, promoting biodiversity and resilience in farming systems.
Small-scale Farmers’ Policy and Leadership Institute: The institute trains small-scale farmers in leadership and policy advocacy, empowering them to influence agricultural policies and practices at various levels.
Land Rights Support Centre: This centre provides legal support and advocacy for small-scale farmers to secure land rights, ensuring their access to and control over land resources.
Agriculture Budget Watch: This initiative monitors government agricultural spending, advocating for fair and adequate allocation of resources to support small-scale farmers and agroecological practices.
ESAFF Radio: A radio platform that broadcasts programs on agroecology, and small-scale farmers' issues, reaching a wide audience and fostering community engagement.
National Agroecology School/Institute: This is a collective of all Community Agroecology Schools (CAS) and a leading center of excellence in agroecological education, research, and practice, dedicated to empowering small-scale farmers, youth, and agricultural stakeholders.

ESAFF Uganda will continue to develop more innovations to support the implementation of the strategic objectives and contribute to the achievement of this vision.
